A little while back, we surprised one lucky homeowner with a brand-new custom deck — won completely free, built by our team. We promised we'd show you the finished result — and now we can. Her new deck on Lorette St in Dieppe is complete, and it turned out beautifully.

What we built
The back of this two-storey Dieppe home needed a raised deck to bring the main floor out to a usable outdoor space. Here's what went into it:
- Decking: Premium pressure-treated lumber — a classic, durable choice that suits the home and stands up to New Brunswick seasons
- Railings: Black aluminum balusters set into pressure-treated top and bottom rails — the clean, modern wood-and-black combo that's become a signature look for us
- Staircase: A full run down to grade with matching railing and balusters, carried through the same detailing as the deck
- Structure: A raised frame engineered for NB snow loads, with the ledger properly flashed where the deck meets the house
Behind the scenes
A deck like this comes together one careful detail at a time. Setting each baluster plumb, measuring and marking every board before it's cut, matching the stair railing to the deck line — it's the unglamorous, get-it-right work that separates a deck that looks sharp on day one from one that still looks sharp a decade later.
And it's the kind of work our crew genuinely enjoys — especially on a project like this one, where the homeowner won the whole thing.
